TR6 TR6 innner door release and window crank removal

Hey guys, how you get these things off? I see it uses a pin, just drive it out and which way?

(One thing I learned over the years it's better to ask how something is done than figure out how to repair what you broke in uninformed removal.)

The handles use a short (1/2") pin to secure the handle. To remove it you need to push the door panel back to expose the pin and then tap it out with a drift punch or something similar. It helps if you can get a third hand to hold the panel back so you can get at the pin.

There are various ways to get the pin back in, but the easiest I've found is to take some coat-hanger wire and notch it sightly with a hacksaw about 1/2" from the end. Then you've the whole length of the wire to feed into the hole, again with the panel pushed back, and after it's in 1/2" just wiggle the wire and it will snap off at the right length where it was scored.

Thanks guys. That's what I thought but with my luck one side would have a shoulder I'd be pounding the pin into.

Another item to consider; the pin can go in two ways --there is a hole drilled
in the 12 o'clock - 6 o'clock position on the handles and also one at the 3 o'clock - 9o'clock position. Sometimes it's hard to tell which one the pin is set in. I put my drift pin in and banged away until I discovered the pin was in the other hole ! I hadn't heard of the coat hanger trick for resetting the pin. Clever!!

Thanks guys. That's what I thought but with my luck one side would have a shoulder I'd be pounding the pin into.

Instead of that, I decided it would be best to put the punch in the extra set of holes and pound on the drive.
