TR6 TR6 ignition coil polarity

I don't understand why the ignition coil reacts differently where polarity is concerned. Who knows the reason? I use the Henry Ford approach (as mentioned in other postings) and do what I am told; but I do wonder why is it different?

How about a picture and a link to the site it is from?

In the picture you can see that the high energy side connects at one end of the coil circuit. If there is a resistor in your coil it also would effect voltage through the coil.

It will work either way, but from what I've read, it takes more voltage (about 15%) to fire a plug that has the wrong polarity.

An in depth explanation here... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

My experience is that it will work fine reversed... for about 500 miles. About then you will have cooked the points.
