TR6 TR6 gearbox cover leak

Hello All,
With all the stories about leaking fluids in TR6's, I am amazed that I only have one leak. (Maybe I just haven't driven mine enough yet.) In any case, the only leak I can find is in the gearbox cover. There is a very small amount of gearbox oil that has leaked from one of the selector shafts. It looks like it is just a matter of replacing the O-rings. My bently manual makes this sound like a fairly easy job. Is it really that easy, and does anyone have any tips before I attempt this?
Thanks, Kevin

You have only one leak!? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif It doesn't seem possible!
Are you sure all of your fluids are topped up!? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I swear, that is the only leak I can find. All the fluids are topped off. I have only got this car running in the last couple of months, so maybe more will appear as I drive it.

Nelson Riedel wrote an article about overhauling the top cover, which seems to have been done in his case to replace the O-Rings, so it might be of interest. It seems to be available on the web archive of the Buckeye Triumphs site:

If the link doesn't work just PM me your e-mail address and I will e-mail a copy - I just saved it for future reference!

Hope that helps
Alistair

Alistair,
Do you have access to all of Nelson's great tech articles? I used to refer to them routinely when they were posted on the Buckeye site but understand that they were removed because of liability concerns. Whether or not this was the case, at any rate they are no longer posted, as you well know. I would love to be able to save those to a CD for my own personal use. I am sure that everyone would love to access these as well.

Keep me posted if you will.

Thanks in advance.

Bill
