TR6 TR6 flip-up bonnet question

I'm thinking of making a fiberglass flip-up bonnet for my TR6 (one of them, anyway - I have two). The only example I can find online is this one:

I'm surprised he didn't include the inner fenders in the bonnet, so that the suspension is exposed when it's up, like with a Spitfire.

Are the inner fenders structural on a TR6?

While it looks cool, and spitfire access is amazing, I think it would be challenging to get the whole front clip to fold up. The inner tub creates stiffness for the front half of the car; front grille, hood hinges, etc. Body panel alignment might be tricky as well…

Having said this; the craftsmanship to make this work would be amazing!

Ha, the car in question is in pretty rough shape - I could do a bad job and it'd still be an improvement
