Not only who are you shipping to, but what will it run for freight? Let us know the weight if you can..
According to Dan Masters on his BritishV8.org website, the TR6 motor weighs in at 460 lbs.

I read too that 460 lbs is the engine proper and I think the tranny with od and crate around 100, since I can pick it up, now I have decided to with hold the rebuilder at this time, but I did do a lot of research and talk on the phone to a few builders and it was a difficult decision, but the shop also throws in a 10 percent discount if I rebuild my OD transmission at the same time, and since I plan on being at the shop for the dyno, proximity to me did play a role in the decision. I know how opinionate we are on here, me included so I am withholding the shop for now, I really dont want to second guess my decision, so you have to stay tuned for who got the job and the dyno results

however I am going to paint the engine bay, and there is some welding of reinforcements on the lower control arms to do so future pics and progress will be comming

Hondo, you do what makes you happy. Period.

In the end that is all that really matters, not what anyone here or anywhere else "thinks" about your decision on where and on what, to spend YOUR money.

Your NOT going to paint the motor RED are you?

Well, knowing that everything that he does is in such good taste, how could he NOT paint it red Don?

Tom, when your done with the hoist you can always cook a turkey with it.

My engine and transmission are crated up and ready for their journey next week, I have pics but who wants to see a square plywood box on a palet, and besides my windows vista is giving me issues with resizing photos and cannot get the down load because I dont have Service pack 2 BLA BLA BLA and it wont down load , thank you MR gates!
