[font:Arial Black]A buddy of mine brought his 72 Tr6 to his mechanic the other day to have his brakes checked out cuz they were squealing. :nopity:

The mechanic took the car in, the next day my buddy got a call....
His Mechanic told him the engine sounded funny so he checked all the cyld. pressure and the #2 cyld. was at 20lbs, he dropped the oil pan to find the thrust washers bathing in the oil.

He had been driving it that way for a while & needless to say, the crank sheared the inside of the block enough to make it worthless'

So after all the crying was over I told him I would put the word out for a engine for him....

Any takers?[/font]

NO dont weld on Cast Iron, not worth it, there are plenty of TR6 blocks out there just wait one will come along

Bill,

Call Erik at Her Majesty's in Swansea MA. I think that he has a few. 508-379-9789.

for the cost of having it welded and then align bored and boring the cylinders, and that if it is not cracked, it is not worth the headache!! Find a different block and crank!! A must. I was a diesel machinist and you only "weld" (braze) a block if there is absolutely no other block available or they are to expensive.

You can find acceptable, notice I didn't say good, engines if you look. I scored a healthy TR6 engine and 4 speed for $500 last year.

Call Team triumph in ohio. He was going to send me a spitfire block when I needed one. He most likely has all the other parts you need.

Team Triumph, Scott Harper (330)392-7176. He will also be at Import Carlisle.

There is a guy on craigslist Boston parting out a 74 TR6
