Never mind - I did what I should have done in the first place, and found the Mallory thread from a few months back. $179 is less than he was quoted for a rebuild.

Alan- 179? Best price I could find was 318. Whose your source. I email Mallory for the correct part number ,never heard back. Could only finf part # for 6 cyl. Jag.Please let me know!

Did I miss something or is this less the tachometer drive? Are you guys converting your tachs to electronic for this switchover? I just bought a spare for this reason and was considering doing just that. Any recommended sources for the conversion?
Thanks!

Sorry, I went back and read previous posts and saw APT for conversion.

The dist. comes without the drive gear and is available fromTRF for $16.00. Revington also does the conversion and someone else had it done for about $100.00. They are across the pond though. I'm thinking about follow the instruction on the web and retro fitting a new tach into the Smith case.
