TR6 TR6 Developed a Miss

I finally got My carbs clean out and back on and seems the engine has developed a miss, I pulled all the plugs and no 5 looks wetter, all others look the same, I am running pertronix, new coil, and plugs have 500 miles on them, I am going to replace the plug wires maybe today, would a pertronix unit fail on one cyliner? I changed the cap but not the rotor, any suggestions?

Hondo

I wouldn't think the pertronix itself would discriminate like that . If it's not due to the cap, wire or plug, then I'd suspect something internal to the engine.

Just a thought... could the plug wire for #5 have a crack in it and is grounding out?
Maybe just swap a another wire.

Hondo,
Wellll???? Are you just going to leave us hanging, it's been over 12 hours..
Not like you to let things bug you that long.

I had company this weekend and didnt have time to mess with it, probably going to order new cap and rotor and plug wires

well I ordered new plugs, wire set, cap and rotor and just in case a new pertronix too. got to be one of the above. But I have been driving the TR6 around, took my brother out for a spin last night and scared the crap out of him, he says I need a specialized plate, COFFIN

will let you know

Success, replace all the components, new pertronix, new plugs, new green wires, new rotor, and new cap and the miss is gone. I doubt it was the pertronix but after 5 years why not, and I have a spare, now Time to drive and tweek the Webers(over time) but I am just going to drive it for a while and break the new engine in
