TR6 TR6 crank/timing gear quality issue?

So I bought a crank gear from a supplier I'd never used before. The box says it's made by Arrow/Aeco. It doesn't want to slide on the crank snout. I MICd it and it's close, but maybe .001 too small. It goes on about a half inch, then binds. Crank nose is smooth and burr free and so is the gear ID. The woodruff key doesn't seem to fit either, but that might be due to wear on the key shoulders. The vendor says it was made in the UK and is a quality part. Seems a bid dodgy to me.

Google search shows that a number of other suppliers stock a higher quality gear made in Germany by Swag. I'm guessing maybe there' a reason?

Anyone else have an issue with TR6 crank gears? Educate me.
