TR6 TR6 Convertible frame repair

I've taken off the ragedy old top and plan to replace it with a new one. The problem I've always had with it as long as I can remember is that the header rail keeps popping off the two small nubs. Should I pop the header on and have the nubs welded a little larger to hold it in? Anyone else have that problem? Otherwise the frame is in good shape.

I can't offer any help but if I may be so bold I can ask for some from you and the group. My TR4A (which I assume has the same roof) came in boxes so I have no idea how the roof parts go back together and the new top I bought goes on there. Do you have a picture of what you are talking about, and perhaps that will help me and maybe spur someone else to answer your question.

I found this picture off ebay - I'm at work, so I don't have a picture of mine. But I've indicated with the arrows where the studs are that I'm talking about. The header rail flops back and forth on the studs on each side.
