TR6 TR6 clutch bleeding woes

Tom,

So what did you have to do to sort it out?

Scott

Yeah, inquiring minds want to know. Was it that little seal that was the problem?

Hi guys. Not sure if it was that seal, I'm thinking it was. I ended up just buying a new MC from Moss. She needs to be ready for the SoCal TT and it wasn't worth screwing around with it any more...

BUT - the engagement is really stiff and pretty binary, very little travel, kind of on/off...

Tom,

Sorry, I was wondering about this statement and whether you found anything to "fix" it (ie. Ian's question on the TR4A-TR6 diaphragm).

Which clutch kit did you use in this car?

Scott

I had rebuilt my MC a couple times over the last few years and just could not get get rid of the pesky drip that would land on the pedal. I checked everything in the cyl for pits and cracks but could see no problem. Actually was at the point of parking the car because having some disability driving with the slippery pedal was very difficult. Finally the week before the British Car Festival in Des Plains, IL I installed a new MC from Moss. I am very happy I did and drove to and from Des Plains with no problem. Even took hwy 12 down and hwy 14 back. Both being infested with stop lights.

My only very minor issue with the new MC is this. It comes with a white plastic cap instead of the metal type original to my car. And that is fine, but it would be nice if the old cap would fit. Like I said very minor issue in view of the fact that it works.

Now I have a used MC and a new Girling kit that I do not have any use for, now or ever.

BTW - I have had the Sachs kit from BPNW for nearly 5 years and am very happy with it. Very smooth and easier for me to operate. Had one fluke problem with the pressure plate more than a year ago and BPNW was stellar in their handling of the situation.

Tom, please!!!

You know better than to ever say anything like that.
