TR6 TR6 Choke Cable Lubrication

I tried myself recently. Best I could come up with was to shoot some cable lubricant (though anything would work conceivably) into both ends of it, but it didn't make a lot of difference. Since this cable snakes through the dash and firewall on its way to the carbs, you do have to make sure it's not kinked or under strain somewhere. Other than that, do your wrist exercises, LOL.

It can take less effort to pull if you floor the accelerator pedal while pulling the knob; just be sure to lift off before engaging the starter.
And some people have installed the fast idle return spring which really isn't needed on the post 72 choke cables and that makes it even harder to pull out the choke knob.

Dan,
Years ago, I pushed the carburetor end into a tight piece of hose... and put a grease nipple on the hose. Pumped grease in until it came out at the dash. just have to be weary the mess. Did one, then the other.

I took the cable off this morning; turns out the sheaths were pulled out of the part of the dash end where they are crimped in. I removed the sheaths, used dry lube on the cable, and then slid the sheaths back on and hammered them down tighter on the crimped end; seem to be ok. I appreciate all the replies I got.
