I bought an "S2" cam about 15-20 years ago from British Parts Direct. Found them out of Hemmings. They must have shut their doors shortly after my purchase as I don't recall ever seeing anything about them since. They listed two cams at the time. Their S2 was rated at 135hp and another at 145. Not sure how they determined these figures. I don't remember seeing any spec sheet on the cam, it's a regrind with very little time on it. My engine had a couple problems at the time and I swapped it out.
So my dilemma, I had planned on using it, but I'm not too excited about messing with an unknown entity. There is another cam of interest that some fellow club members have installed and are quite happy with.
Short of sending my S2 out to a manufacturer, how can I find out what I have?

Well, you could check out Google, which shows British Parts Direct in Caswell, OR; where they apparently moved about 10 years ago.

Or, you could check out the Monster List which has an unflattering comment about them (including the owner's name).

But if you just want to know your cam specs, check out

PS, if memory serves, that was one of the 'performance' grinds developed by Kas Kastner and offered by the factory. But I'm too lazy to go look up the history.

Thanks for the info Randall. I had done a search, not Google, and came up with nothing.
