Good retort, Shawn. By the way, I still think your "non-original" color is one of the slickest I've seen.
 
I concur. I'll parse somewhat and say instead: "classy".

Harder for you Dale since you don't have many other examples to compare to first hand. Especially since you've only seen one other TR6 on your Island.

Stupid me.

Two days ago, I pulled into a local gas station to
put air in Crypty's tires. I young fellow came over
to admire the '69TR6 and told me has has a yellow '76TR6
way up in the mountains that he has been working on for
two years. He has the diff and both rear axles out.

We chatted awhile and Wendy I said goodbye and drove off.
At home it dawned on me. I had not gotten his name, phone
no.or anything. I feel so stupid and where he lives is
really remote- I could never find him if I looked.

Yeah, but if it happens again I'll bet you get a name and phone number. At least know you know there are at least three.

Last spring I sold some parts to someone in PR (wasn't you). They were the Hazard and Brake warning lamp bulbs for '69-'72 TR6s, part #39 & #42 on this page, which you don't have on your dash. So there could be at least four. Do you remember what year that one that was trailered to the car show was?

Between Loveland, Fort Collins & Windsor (about 5 miles apart and over 220,000 people combined) there are over 30 TR6's that I know of. And I seem to find out about more every year or so. Believe me when I tell you that Northern Colorado is a hotbed of LBC activity. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

It sure is, Shawn! I just got an invite via my website feedback page, to visit the the NOBCC (https://www.nobbc.com/) because Steve in Loveland thought I was located in Colorado.
 
Shawn, The other TR owner I met lives about a two
drive from our home in pretty rugged mountains.
I don't see Crypty ever being reliable enough
for rugged, twisty mountain road. ( Many with shear
drops and no shoulders to pull onto when broken down.

I'd hate to think of a wheel falling off with 2,000' of
nothing but fall straight down beside me; with no guardrails.

I think the Tralier Queen was a 1974. The owner not
very friendly.

Don't worry about it. Once you've gone over 500 feet, it's most likely that nothing matters after that.
