TR6 TR6 aftermarket rear shocks

Hello
installed a set of aftermarket shocks--drivers side fits well,passenger side rubs wheel-- other than reinstall OEM any other ideas

Hi Terry, what type ofaftermarket shocks do you use ? I use telescopic type of shocks from Spax, works with no problem.

Your right rear wheel camber might need adjusting.

I put a square on the wheels--right rear wheel is in at the top by about 2 inches ,drivers about 3/4 at the top--Santa brought a Robert Bentley manual- will pull it out and do some adjustments --Thanks for the great tip

instead of playing the old one notch, two notch, three notch, notches up or notches down mix and match game with the factory trailing arm brackets. It makes setting the rear camber much easier as well as providing a small bit of ride height adjustment.

What is the condition of your trailing arm bushings and your rear springs. Maybe upgrade to Goodparts Nylatron bushings.
If your bushings are worn, that will affect your camber.

I swapped the springs out last summer ,made a world of difference ,didn't visit the camber as i assumed this was the nature of the beast I have been reading up on the adjustment process and bushing replacement in the Bentley manual and Buckeye Triumph --Oh Boy !!

Not necessarily 'better' than the original brackets, but a whole lot easier to dial in.
You still use the original 'toe adjustment shims' so keep track of how many and where.

I have the drivers side wheel off and shocks The limiting factor is i am old and fat ,i take more rest stops than work I have decided to order the good parts as mentioned by the group ,may as well when we are in there, might save a trip back in later on (I have checked both cross members and they seem solid enough to invest the $)

this quick cheap shock conversion has turned pricey ,then again don't all DIY projects--The Canadian Buck has dropped 20% since you stopped buying Canadian oil It's all this fricken fracken for oil you're doing--LOL

i bought the set slightly used ,I believe they are the set sold through MOSS

Five hours to-day I have one trailing arm off and one bushing out I believe the bushings must be original equipment,A lot of white /yellow powder .i assume chemical/ moisture reaction from the rubber and the aluminum The same inside the drive housing
One casualty so far the emergency cable the anchor bolt was frozen and snapped off

I just completed the rear suspension rebuild using the adjustable brackets. There might be something you could learn from my post. Especially regarding the orientation of the adjusters on the Good Parts brackets. I had to go at it on my own as well. I seem to have the rear alignment set pretty well now. Camber and toe-in are good. Mine was "crabbing" badly before, but it runs straight now.
