Probably not a big deal for all you TR4 and prior owners but, my TR4A turns 60 tomorrow. The build date according to the BMHT Certificate was November 4th, 1965. Just didn't want the date to pass with no mention. And the car has been a part of my life for 25 of those year, purchased on July 1, 2000.

My "6" will turn 53 the 16th. of November. Easy to remember because it is the day before MY birthday. When this was new, I really wanted one, but with a new wife and a low paying job, that was not going to happen in the fall of 72'. ...J.D.

Mine turned 60 earlier this year, and I did mark the date. It's delightful to imagine it 60 years ago, sparkling in a dealer's showroom, with no one expecting it still to be on the streets today.

Mine 3’s old enough for Medicar.

I appreciate all your comments gents! Glad to hear I am not the only one silly enough to mark the date.

"Medicar" - I see what you did there, that's great. My initial reaction was a typo...haha

You light all the candles on the cake, place it on the bonnet, drive it around the block to put them out!!
Of course the neighbors will call the police......

Beautiful car. Yes, I have (embarrassed to say) three great TR4As. I’ll check the build dates, as I suspect each one of mine is now 60 years old.

If I were to explain why I own three, it would have something to do with two deeply tanned guys in their teens I saw gliding down the California Coast Highway in 1972, in a 4A, with the top down and headbands blowing in the wind. Images stay with us.

FYI, I’ll be in the Long Beach area next February. I’ll message a few of you guys for lunch when I make it there. Hopefully our schedules will work.

(Also, I note that next year’s Triumphfest will be in Flagstaff if I read the post correctly. That’ll be handy.)

Enjoy. In February I'll likely be shoveling snow from my driveway in CT

I am in one of the desert parts of California. Blazing hot in the summer and below freezing in the winter. I have decided to leave my top down and my tonneau on all winter. Nothing more refreshing than ripping around with the tonneau half open, heater on, wearing my heavy leather biker jacket on a brisk winter day. A good thermostat is a must. I have other things to drive if it really gets nasty. ...J.D.
