have SUs on the IRS 4A and like them, want to do the same on the solid axle car... Anyone have a lead on where to track down an assembly?

Thanks guys

Give Joe Curto a call. He's got new, rebuilt and just plain used that you can rebuild yourself. Also, keep an eye out on ebay, as I see SU's for TRs pop up all the time.

Edit: There's one, yes only one, on ebay right now.

Skip, I took a set of a '67 4A a couple of years ago and I think the guy still has them setting on a shelf in the garage, with everything, a bolt on, even has the rod from the puller. Not sure what he will want for them, but I'll run $300 by him and if you think that's too much let me know and I will try another figure. That price does sound fair. I think I have a pair of Yoke filters, but they are more for a show car, not very effective compared too today's filters. Not cheap.

PS They were off a running car and we put the Strombergs on and he was much happier. You would only do a little adjusting if any. They are the HS6's.

Hi Wayne, thanks for the note.

Hopefully just the throttle linkage is a bit less than that since I don't need the actual carbs or filter.

Thanks for making the inquiry.

Hi guys - it has been suggested that I could be a bit more clear here. So here it goes;

On my ZS carb the linkage with the arrow (which is a long single metal piece) pulls on the single carb lever circled to move both openings.

On the 4A with SU there is a totally different throttle to carb linkage assembly. This one is a center pull. The red arrow points to the black center assembly, everything is contained in the blue circle.

I am looking for everything in the blue circle, not the carbs or headers or manifold. Sorry for not being more clear up front.

Thanks!

Skip, now we have it, sorry for not understanding. Don't think he will be willing to break up the set. If it will help, the plate on the TR6 will work if you reverse the triangle to the other side and then shorten your rod to the accelerator shaft. Going on a bad memory here, been about 20 years since doing this on a TR4, and we were putting on a pair of 2 inch SU's off a Volvo. A couple of hooks to fit the SU throttle shaft (MGB) and you are almost there.
Are you having trouble with the Stromberg's???
I got Tom's to work much better, instant throttle response.
