We removed the old plinth and it had a metal mounting bracket glued to it. The new plinth has a metal plate molded in it but doesn't have the mounting bracket. Are we suppose to fit and glue the bracket off the old plinth to the new one? Thanks

If by "mounting bracket" you mean the steel plate with the side piece that bolts to the metal dash backing--yes.

I put that piece right behind the new padded plinth I purchased from TRF.

However, I shaved off some of the foam so it would fit tightly, and because it would otherwise have been too thick to catch the threads on the neck of the switches.

Also, glue was not needed. That back bracket stays put by virtue of the fastening of the switches. I wanted that bracket for one reason only--that bolted side mount greatly strengthens the plinth, especially when I yank the choke like a gorilla.

Hope I didn't confuse you.

That's exactly the info we needed. Just wanted to make sure before we started trimming the foam back. Thanks again!
