TR4/4A TR4A PCV system

There was a thread a wile back concerning the possibility of a bad PCV system pressurizing the crankcase and forcing oil out the real main seal. Can't seem to find it, but as I recall someone had some luck with getting rid of the system and stopping (or nearly stopping) the oil leak. My 4A also leaks from the rear main seal, not a terrible amount, but enough to leave its mark. I was going to try this fix myself, but had a question. If you cap off the port on the intake manifold does there need to be a mixture adjustment as well? Seems to me plugging that port would alte the fuel/air mixture?

I just added a road draft tube in addition to my existing pcv system. No more oil leaks:smile:

Hah hah -- you make it sound so simple. As the other thread (yours) documents, that little plug can put up a bit of a fight.

I can't claim 'no leaks' but will say 'much less leak' with the road draft tube in place and relieving some crankcse pressure. I left the upper end system as is (this was on a TR4) as it helps some too.
