TR4/4A TR4A parts to a good cause

Ok... I gotta clear out. Many of you folks here on the BCF have been very generous to me when it comes to helping me out with my TR2 project, and I am extremely grateful for that.
Now I'd like to maybe help pay it forward.
Before I had the TR2 I had a pair of 66 TR4A solid axle cars. One got sold whole, and the other I parted out. I still have a large quantity of parts for that second car and would love to see them go to help other projects instead of taking up space in my smaller garage.
I need to go out and sort through what's there but here's a short list
Serviceable windshield
Drivers door
TR4A only Top frame
dash panel (The metal panel behind the wood)
An entire rear axle (The solid axle fitted to the IRS frame, sorry no springs)
TR6 inner door panels, black (Ok..but not mint)
PCV valves
hmmm.... I know there's lots more stuff. None of it great, but lots of it serviceable.
I doubt I have the really commonly sought after stuff left
PM me if you have any interest.
I'll try to get a list today, and post more of what's there.
Come by and load it up, or If you want to cover the cost I can see about shipping it. take it all, or just see if I have that odd bit.
I'm, always up for trading for TR2-3 parts as well  (Hint hint)

That's great.
TO note, all this stuff is good enough I decided to keep it, but none of it is great. for those looking for the odd bits or weird parts.
On looking into the pile yesterday I also spotted
A trunk-lid
some front suspension parts
a rear bumper with overriders and brackets (the bumper it's self is a bit twisted)
Window regulators and door latch mechanisms
some of the chrome interior door trim, Cranks and handles
the cowl vent assembly
Wiper arms
I'm pretty sure the entire wiper assembly is in there somewhere.
a center wishbone for over the trans tunnel, but it's in bare aluminum. someone skinned it!

Gotcha! thanks Jim. I was really hoping someone would need the axle. being as hard to find as the 4A solid axles are, I really did not want to scrap it.

To you guys that responded, I haven't forgotten you. The Monday after this post I got put back on 10 hour days. Things are getting acclimated to the new schedule. My goal is to have stuff found, packed and ready to ship over this weekend. Thanks for understanding.

Don't scrap the axle. I'll take it when I can find a way to pick it up. I go to Albany area a couple of times a year so maybe we can get it there some how.

I actually have one also, I'll need to take some measurements. I believe the axles/hubs are identical - the spring pads may be as well on the main tubes but the 4A setup has an extra bumper assembly on it. Plenty of interchangeable parts there though.

ISTR there are other minor differences as well, having to do with the handbrake and hydraulic lines.

Yes, the 4A has extra brackets for the parking brake cables (Earlier TRs had the cam and lever setup) and the bump stops. I believe the internals are the same as the TR4s. It's the housing that is a bit unique. the TR4A solid axle was really a car with the Independent rear suspension frame (Minus the upper spring mounts) with a modified live axle on leaf springs fitted to it.
If all goes well the axle may be getting shipped out. If not I'll be sure to let you guys know. I'm "diggin" in tomorrow to get everything in order.

I believe some solid axle 4A's had slightly different shafts; but they are interchangeable with the earlier shafts. Otherwise I agree, internals identical.

Does it have the bracket for the pivot point for the TR4 style handbrake? ISTR the one I saw did not have the bracket at all.

Correct. the old style e-brake bracket is gone.

Ok update.
I was out digging through the stuff and looking things over.
The rear axle has been stored outside. it's still ok, but I don't know how good the internals are. It's gonna be a local pickup only item. Between the oil in it, and its size and weight it would not be worth the cost to ship, and I'd feel bad if someone went through all that trouble and expense to find out it needs to be rebuilt.
The housing is good. The internals may be fine. If someone needed to replace a damaged one, this is just what you need. It's here in N.Y.if someone want's to pick it up.
I did find a complete heater assembly, and a radiator. I don't know the water-tightness of either, but they're there.

Banjo is 1st class! Even though we did not have any TR2-3 parts to trade, he graciously helped us out with several missing parts for our TR4A. This is a prime example of what makes working on these cars so pleasurable. Banjo your Karma is in good standing! Thanks again,Don

Glad to help. Those parts would have just hung around here forever if they had not found the right place to go.
