TR4/4A TR4A Muffler Removal

I want to remove my dual mufflers so I can drop the differential. One forward muffler, a single pipe to the underside breastplate, with pipe splitting into two (with 2 rear mufflers) behind all that.

How much horsing around and agony am I getting into? Maybe I release the two muffler hangars at the far rear, and pull and twist from there? The forward clamp looks mighty tight, with some creasing.

I'd like, of course, to avoid hack saws and torches.

Thanks for the advice.

Have you wire brushed all the bolts and hit them with penetrating oil for a couple of days? Even with oiur dry cars I've found that to help.

I've dropped/replaced the TR4 and TR6 diffs with the exhaust in place but is it a pain and both of those exhausts were "floppy" and need their hangers replaced so I had play that you may not.

I know you said you want to avoid torches, but if you have access to an acetylene outfit, a little heat on that joint will make it slide off pretty easily.
