putting in new motor mounts in 4a. fronts look pretty straightforward. question is do i have room underneath to replace the rear without taking anything off? thanks

I'm not certain, but I believe you need to remove the rear crossmember to change the rear mount on a 4A. Not hard, though, just support the gearbox, undo 4 bolts between the crossmember and the frame, plus 2 bolts that hold the mount to the gearbox, and push/turn the mount until it comes out with the rear mount attached. Change the mount & put it back.

you were correct, thanks! when i finally got a chance to get under the car last night that is what i found. additionally there is a strap coming down from the top on the inside and the exhaust bracket on the outboard side but no problem. thats done, good thing as it came out in two pieces. yikes! explains the vibration on my test drive. started on the fronts but the whole car started to come up so tonight when i am fresher will loosen up some stuff and have a go at it.
