Probably a very simple question, but I want to be sure. I am trying to lean out the mixture a little, the plugs seem to blacken up at idle. When I run on the road they clean up. So my question is which way do I turn the mixture adjusting screw. Is it counterclockwise looking down on top of the carb. I have books that tell wich way to turn, but they do not say if you look from the top down or from the bottom up? Grant

As you are standing over the carbs looking down , turn the nut to the left to lean and right to rich.
