Just received a new front globe badge for our TR4A,from one of the big three,and what a disappointment. The red area of the globe looks a bit washed out,guess I could live with that, but the chrome plating on the ring has rough sanding marks and tiny bubbles,blisters or trash in the plating. Is this common with British reproduction parts? It almost looks like its already 34 years old!

It would be nice to know which suppliers are not up to snuff.Unhappy customers are not good for business and as the value of LBC's increase poor quality parts are not needed.

The problem with that approach is that sometimes it is just "luck of the draw". I don't think any of us are willing to pay what it would cost to do 100% inspection of every incoming part (that's how the military comes up with $700 hammers and $800 toilet seats). So for the most part, our suppliers ship whatever they get, until someone lets them know there is a problem. All of them have shipped bad parts at one time or another.

In many cases, the parts actually come from the same manufacturer anyway. Just some are good, and some are bad. And that is especially true for things like model-specific badges.

Stinger, just contact them and let them know that you are unhappy with the part and you are returning it and would like them to ship another.
If they are unwilling . Tell them sorry to hear that and you will take your business elsewhere.
I know the big 3 will not disappoint

A few days in the sun and the red paint on even the BEST TR4A badge will start to fade. Ask me how I know. :cry:

Sent the part back for replacement or refund. They refunded our credit card minus the shipping. Lost about $13 in shipping due to inferior parts. Just requested to be removed from their email special notices. Next purchase will be from a different big three supplier. Don't you just love the big three merry go round???
