TR4/4A TR4A for sale?

I was coming home from Lowes yesterday and spotted a good looking TR4A. Since I live in a rather rural area,and there are very few LBC's, I wanted to talk to the owner. He stopped and I got out and spoke to him. It seems that this car is a survivor. From a quick look it looks like the paint is original except for the hood. He said everything else is original except for normal wear and tear items.

He said he wanted to sell the car because his wife could no longer ride with him.

I know that there is no way to price the car without inspection but does anyone know what this car would be worth?

I don't need the car and I could not pay for a divorce if I brought another car home anyway. I am just trying to help him out.

From your discription and without any photos, I would say the car should be would be worth $4000 on the low side and likely not more than $10,000 on the high side. That of coarse would be if the car runs and drives OK.
 
Get it posted here or VTR and you'll get traffic on it for him. OR, maybe just get some pictures and report back to us here. We've been known to be an acquisitive bunch from time to time...
 
The bit question would of course be rust, if it is original paint the car should be pretty honest and rust through should be pretty apparent. If rust free and decent running condition I would put the value over $5,000 maybe a lot more if a nice survivor, I think good unmolested cars are rising in value in general.

A local car I saw a couple years ago that was refurbished, but to a pretty low standard, big bad panel gaps, etc., went on E-bay for about $12,000 shortly before the economy tanked.
