The trunk lid hits the rear overiders when opening and closing the trunk. I assume the rear bumper has been pushed in at some point or it might be that I need to move the overiders back on the bumper? How much clearance should there be betwwen the the bottom of the trunk and the overiders when everything is set up right? Also...should there be about 3/8" to 1/4" clearance between the trunk and the body at the hinge area?

My car (which has had extensive work on the rear) has "just enough" clearance.
You can try rotating the overriders down and back (tighten up the lower support) to get a bit more space.
