TR4/4A TR4A Differential Lube

OK, I finally replaced the Differential lube with GL4 due to all the picky picky folks here telling me I might ruin my gears.

The manual says the capacity is 1.8 pints. But I've put in over two pints to get it right below the filler plug hole.

Am I too full? Must I drain some out?

Do you have it level front/back and side to side?

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. A little bit extra won't hurt anything, and a lot extra will just get thrown out the vent.

But then I also use GL5

That manual might be measuring in "Imperial" pints.
That was my first thought too, but I checked two different sources and they both give 1.5 Imperial pints and 0.8 liters, as well as 1.8 US pints. Could still be a misprint that never got corrected, but at least KVH read it correctly.
