TR4/4A TR4A convertable top mounting

I am at the stage where I have to install my top on my TR4A. The problem is that the car came in boxes with the framework having no webbing, and the rear trim piece just loose. I have no idea how all the parts go together (though I can take a WAG). The front part I think I have figured out, but the length of the webbing, how it attaches to the car at the back and what the rear part (that part where the top meets the rear deck)looks like I have more trouble with. Does anyone have a picture of the details of the rear area from which I could figure out what I need to do? Also is there a specification for the length of weebing and what length is needed between each bow of the hood sticks? Thanks for any help.

When I put the top on the TR3 (essentially a similar process), I measured the distances between the ribs where the webbing would be attached. When the frame is mounted, extend it as if there were a top, and then take the measurements.

You can also measure between the seams on the top where the frame ribs will sit, if that makes any sense to you.

If you'll do a search here on the Forum, I'm sure you'll find more detailed info, as there have been threads on this in the past.

Nah - that's a bargain. Remember Barrett-Jackson? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Not promoting this at all, but pictures may help:

[/ QUOTE ]Nice, but it seems to me that a car originally delivered to a German dealer should have at least the steering column lock that was mandated at the time in Germany.

Meanwhile, I actually prefer this one, although, being a TR4, it will help even LESS regarding installation of a TR4A top! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
