TR6 TR4a/6 carbs

I've got several sets of SU HS6 and ZS 175CD2 carbs and I'm in the process of cleaning them as well as checking them for needed parts. Can these carbs be used interchangeably on TR6 and TR4as? I know the engine size is not that much different, but I want to plan for the correct use.
Also, when cleaning these carbs it appears the SUs are aluminum and the ZS are pot metal?
Thanks, Rut

I have TR4A Strombergs on my TR250. They work fine, I had to mess with the linkage a little to make them work, but that was it. They are easier to adjust with a greater range of adjustment and less extraneous emissions stuff to mess with. Only downside would be if you live in a state that does emissions testing or infections on cars that old.

I have HS 6's on my Six. I love them. They are a better alternative to ZS carbs and, in my opinion, to Webers as well.

I am using HS6's on my two TR4's, as opposed to the stock H6 carbs. Have a friend who had triple Webers on his TR 6. Has now switched to two HS6's on his TR6. Early on for this conversion , but so far he is pleased. You do need to get the correct needles and piston springs for each application.
