TR4/4A tr4 zip out rear window

I have been harassing a poor employee of Robbins top about making a tr4 convertible top like the tr6 has with the zip out window. He is convinced (due to lack of imagination??) that there are not enough tr4 drivers left on the planet to make this a worthy project. What I would like for Christmas is for every tr4 owner in the world to drop him an email(I hope there is some interest)Perhaps if he receives 2 or 3 hundred requests he may change his mind, a thousand would be really cool....

Sorry I can't help directly, but I know there have been several local TR4 owners that have gone as far as to pay a upholstery shop to add the zipper. One of our former club presidents has it on his TR4, and had the shop owner come speak to the club meeting about it a few years back.

The cost seemed high to me, almost as much as the top itself, but Bob & others seemed to feel it was worth it.

Might make it easier to petition your Robbins contact if we had an email address for him ...

What they should do is make them with a TAN cloth liner as original, at least on my 4A. My wife had a Miata with a zip rear window that was such a PITA that I would never have one.

I'm in, just let me know the contact number!

These guys have them in a variety of colors:

LBCarco -- search using "TR4 top" and look for the ones with zippered rear windows.

Looks like they also have zippered versions for TR2 & TR3.

Here's a pic of my LBCarCo top...

I see the top Geo, but sorry, I don't think we're focusing too much on that. That is one sweet looking, well maintained, thoroughly perfect TR4 with some really cool wheels. You're a credit to the marque (I spelled it right this time).

I am just carpping about Robins being so obtuse as to not offer this option.I like their quality. Not to be too critical but I see a few things I dont like about the fit in Geo's picture.Having put on a good many tops an many different cars, I have sworn off cheap tops. They are way too disappointing in the end. The best top man in the world can never make up for a poorly sown /cut top.
