Have fun, veneering for fun doesn't always turn out that way...

I almost want to go back to the white dashboard at this point, and I haven't even started yet.

But then I'd have to find the gauge plate etc.

Note the Phillips head screws. How many holes will I have to patch. Any from the back?
 
Whatever was done was probably as much work as doing it properly. The hard part is taking all the gauges, switches and lights out. The good news is that yorr new veneer will make a tremendous improvement.

I think I counted 8 thru the face though it may only be six.

I hope to get the whole dash en masse out and onto the workbench. Then I can pull the gauges out carefully and at least preserve them for work or replacement later.
 
What year is your car I can get old dashes but yours I am some how missing al mine have round vents and is that an ash tray in center of dash and emer. brake in floor. I am guessing early.

62. Got my first look at the commission plate today but forgot to take a pic of it.

Was attempting to get the dash out today after my chores but didn't have all the right tools with me and after two trips down the hill and back I was knackered. Pulled out cans of Rusty Metal primer and went looking for rust spots or possible problems. Liberally sprayed an entire can in and around the car and trunk lip.
