How is the plastic trim that is on the interior of the windshield held in place? Is it glued or is it held in place by the windshield rubber?

It's held in by the rubber. No glue or Urethane is needed at all.

They will stay in place very well as long as the rubber is still viable, I have seen cars where the rubber is so dried and shrunken that they won't hold very well, but if that bad it obviously needs replacement.

Just to clarify, what trim are you referring to? My windshield frame was covered in Black vinyl when I found the car. It was glued on with the some type of contact cement. Although I could see where it could be held on with just the windshield rubber. Should I have something besides the vinyl?

Oops, missed the Word "interior" I was thinking of the often discussed plastic trim piece that goes on the outside, it was late, I didn't have my glasses on, ah **** I just screwed up.
