TR6 TR4 & TR6 Gas Tanks

I've been working with Boyd Welding on a 14 - 15-ish gallon aluminum fuel tank for the TR6 and got to wondering if it would also fit the TR4. The stock tanks look the same but the TR4 tank is listed as unavailable. Does anyone know? BTW.... the aluminum tank price will be $475 which is quite a bit cheaper than the stock steel replacement tank. I trying to negotiate a one time group purchase so if you're interested email me at 75TR6@tr6.danielsonfamily.org

Hi Bob
BPNorthwest shows the tr4-tr250-tr6 as the same fuel cell that they carrie
so I would say the tr4 is the same as tr6.ck there site

Pretty sure they all bolt in the same, there were some changes in how they were vented over the years.

The tank will come with two outlet bungs and two top vents so it will serve a variety of years. What's not needed can be easily blocked.

I have a non vented TR4 tank in my '74 TR6. They all bolt in the same. I had to create my own venting system for this tank to work properly in my installation.

Thanks............ wouldn't you think that Moss would cross reference the TR6 tank for a TR4 rather than saying it's NLA? THe TR6 tank will have vents but they can be capped if not needed.... anyhow, it looks like this aluminum tank I'm doing will fit a TR4 too. I wish I had a TR4 handy to stick my mocked up tank in!

Might be some kind of liability issue. You can never be certain that the end user knows exactly what they are doing. I could see someone buying this tank and NOT capping off the unneeded vent lines then trying to sue Moss for damages when things get bad.
