TR4/4A TR4 Tonneau Strap

Most of my driving is with a half-open tonneau. I have a replacement tonneau from Moss that did not include the strap that goes from about midway along the zipper to the lift-the-dot on the side of the passenger's seat cushion.

I finally got around to adding this. I used 1.5" black webbing to more or less duplicate original but stitched it at the top end rather than using 2 rivets. Anyway -- it makes a big difference.

Driving at freeway speed (75) the tonneau would flap violently -- now it is much tauter and moves only slightly. Just offer this as a suggestion if yours isn't secured this way.

So that's what the goofy looking little strap was that I cut off the TR6 tonneau. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

That tonneau strap is a great idea. I remember it from when I had my first TR4 back in '64. I've been meaning to put one the my Miata tonneau.
