TR4/4A TR4...tempting purchase

So I was checking craigslist like I often times do and came across a TR4 for sale in my area. The list price is 1500.00. I emailed about it and asked for pics. Here is some of what he said and the pics he sent (not very good pics) What do you guys think....just curious.

"The car has minimal rust as it was brought back from Florida in 1980-drove that summer and has been in storage since. The interior is gone. I tore it out with the intent of restoring. The seat frames are there but all material is off. The top was new when I bought it. After 30 years it does not look like it. Rockers rusted bad. Froze up from sitting that long. I did not pickle it because the plan was to drive and restore. A wife, three kids and 30+ years changed that."

I think I'd question the "minimal rust" followed by "rockers rusted bad". Also, the removed interior, no pictures of engine bay, and his ignoring the obvious accident (?) damage. And he just left it to sit for 30+ years?

But if you have the time and the $$$$ - I'm sure you could work wonders! Maybe the engine is excellent?

I think I might just walk away, and I'm a TR4 fan. Rusted away rockers, frozen engine, wrecked, no interior... who knows what else.

Yeah it looks pretty bad. I emailed him asking for more pics of some other things so hopefully he can do that. I mean is there a price that might make this okay or is it just a waste of a car?

Not a waste, but from all indications, as said, it looks to be a parts car. $500 - $750 from the pictures would be my bid, if I were interested.

Well, if it is any consolation, it looks better than the one I looked at last week for the same price.....

Been sitting outside for the past 20 years....a real shame as it looked like it was a nice car prior to being parked...
