Cross posting from the Triumph forum. I don't think there is much cross over between the two sections.

Camera Car:
1963 Triumph TR4: 2200cc, car weight ~2200lbs w/ driver . Fast Lap 1.36.8

Pole car: Lotus Super Seven, 1500cc, 1175lbs per rules w/o driver. Fast lap 1.36.6

The next fastest car was a beautifully prepared and well driven Ford Escort that was 4 seconds per lap slower. Both drivers were really pushing it. Unfortunately, it was pushed a bit too far, but that's racing. Enjoy

The party in pits after the event must have been really fun........

Emotions were high, but cooler heads prevailed in the end. Though, the fish fry at Doc Bundy's trailer was pretty good and the track party is always top notch, aha.

Looked good until the end (his mirror was filled with Lotus 7).

I hate when that happens!

Practice times where set when not together, and both drivers turned lap times within a half a second to each other; they just have two different ways of going about it. Triumph = heavy/horsepower , Lotus = nimble/better acceleration.

Both drivers have been racing for over 40 years, and both have competed on a professional level. Incidents happen when you race hard.
