TR4/4A TR4 Steering column threads ?

The tool you need usually comes in a set of tools called a tap and die set. Usually from 1/4 to 1/2 inch for various thread types. For your steering shaft threaded end You need a Die and a Die wrench (a double handled device that the die sits in so you can turn it) which will restore the male threads on the steering shaft. Unfortunately, I do not know what the size is. The Tap is for restoring female threads. You can buy it at home depot, NAPA, or just about any tool outlet store. They are somewhat expensive for a good set. Don't buy a cheap set it won't last. Just a last thought... If you have a drill bit big enough you may be able to hold the shank end to the steering shaft thread and determine the size that way.

Hope this is of some help.
