TR4/4A TR4 rear axle piece fell of into my hand?

Hi Larry,

Sorry I didn't chime in earlier but I just got back from a show.

My 4A also had a missing axle tube locating bolt. Mine are threaded in then staked. I replaced the missing one with a hex head bolt set with JBwelded around threads and also around the head. The axle tube goes all the way through the diff casing so the pins just keep the tubes from rotating. The outboard ends of the tubes are clamped tight to the leaf springs with u-bolts so there's really no rotational force except from the spring movement.

So a decent repair is all that you'll need and it'll be fine.
