TR4/4A TR4 Radiator choices

So I found out today that my radiator is toast. The shop I took it to said they can recore it for about $400. Moss has a repro for $430. that needs the TR3 top hose. What are my other options. Originallty not that big of a deal, I'm just looking for the best radiator for the $.

If cooling is the objective, get an aluminum radiator.

I had mine recored with an extra row of coolant tubes, but retaining the original top and bottom tanks, and with the fins closer togerther "fine pitch fins".
Worked well, no regrets.

for my 8, I bought a griffin aluminum radiator from Woody cooper. I am very pleased about it so far, huge difference on the cooling. was an exact match.

$400 is awfully expensive for a recore. Shop around a bit.

How much did yours cost, Simon?

On the other hand, the same $$$s would go a long way toward a good aluminum radiator that will always outperform the original, as already mentioned.
