Wow! I've never seen so many Triumphs on Craigslist/LA. There's a TR6, "good" body, (no pix), for $500, and a 78 Triumph Speed Fire, whatever that is, as well as a $13.5K "Harold"......

Looks like there might be some more from the fellow with the TR4 listed above, too. He says he's losing his storage, and there's a partial TR3 visible to the right, plus what appears to be a TR250 to the left.

No surrey top sold with the car make the price seem high.
Depends on what part of the world you are in -if the body is as decent as it appears to be, I don't think that price is way off. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets carted off to the UK or other EU country.

Not a bad price for a TR4 with good sheetmetal. I sat up when I saw the surrey top but the interest died when I read its not for sale.

This TR4 caught my attention, too. I'm concerned that the rear fenders might be a problem. They cost $1000 each most places, but you can get them a bit cheaper if you are willing to ship from England.

Or is there some other option?

Yes, I saw the ad for the Triumph "Speed Fire" too; got a chuckle out of it.

Steve-

The way I read that ad, the fenders are there somewhere, only the hardtop wont be sold with it.

Uh-oh....now I'm starting to scare myself. I'm starting to think that maybe I'll take a look at it this weekend. I'm up for a project, and that might be an option.

You're right, he says it's 100% complete, so I hope he means it. I've seen people claim this, and then it really isn't. Can't tell for sure until I see it.

Sounds like a road trip is in your future.

Well, I sent the guy an email, and it's been more than a day, no response. No phone no. in the ad. I'd like to take a look at it Saturday, but I'm not going to stay in all day waiting by the phone like I'm hoping for an invitation to the prom.

This is my experience with Craigslist, more often than not.

And people complain that they can't sell their cars...

Yeah, probably. No response after two days--you'd think that, basic courtesy and all, the guy would take down the ad or take 30 seconds to send a response.

It is probably not sold, James is caring for a very elderly ill father, he has his hands full with at the moment, The Tr3 is also for sale, I was told. I can scare up a phone number, john

Thanks Tom, You should drop by in your scrounging clothes ( and boots) next time your out this way and the weathers good, john

Weather should be good this weekend, and I have plenty of garage clothes so just let me know!

Our local TR club has our monthly breakfast meet after Irvine Cars and Coffee. Drop me a line if you are up for coming down...
