TR4/4A TR4 hand brake boot

Hi All,

I am re-assembling the interior of my TR4 and was wondering just how this hand brake boot is supposed to fit. I have a fibreglass gear box cover and they don't seem to match up. Does anyone have some pictures they could post?

............Cheers, Alex

Here's a pitiful pic... if you go squinty-eyed you might be able to see how the cutout in the gearbox cover originally positioned relative to the handbrake lever.

But... unless you have overdrive that boot doesn't do much (w/ OD the speedo cable goes through there). On my TR3 I just took a piece of old black floor mat, cut a hole for the handbrake lever and put that on before everything else (insulation & carpet). Question is how important originality is in your restoration.

Thanks for the photo. Actually, originality is not that important. I'm building a good driver. I like the idea of using some old floor mat underneath everything else.

.............Cheers, Alex
