TR4/4A TR4 Cowl Vent Lid

Hi All:

I installed a new rubber seal (TRF) on my cowl vent lid and now it doesn't close all the way. The new seal seems to be too thick, but I'm not sure I can thin it as it has unique upper and lower surface profiles.

Any suggestions or comments? What have the rest of you done? Do the Moss or VB parts fit any better?

Thats the way they come, supposedly it will shrink down to fit,or something of that nature,

I had to carefully trim mine down as well to get a proper fit. Takes a steady hand with a razor knife or some sophisticated jig to size it with a power saw.
