TR4/4A TR4 CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER

Hi All, I am having a problem bleeding my TR4 clutch. On searching the archives of another forum/mailing list, I found information that the bleed screw should be in the top position and the hose in the bottom. Is this correct? Thanks, Mike

Re: TR4 CLUTCH SLSVE CYLINDER

You are correct, the bleed screw is on the top. I bled the slave by hooking a hose to the screw and then running the hose to a funnel arrangement. I then hung the funnel above the slave next to the engine. Several pumps and keeping the master full did the trick.

I too had trouble bleeding the slave cylinder because mine had the bleed nipple at 11:00 or 1:00 when mounted, I forget which, so I removed the slave cylinder and let it hang so the air bubbles would flow better towards the bleed nipple while bleeding and then remounted. That corrected my problem.
