TR4/4A TR4 Choke Cable location

I removed my choke cable months ago and in replacing it,
can't remember if it goes through the firewall underneath the hood latch or lower by the solenoid.
Thanks

Mine (TR4)goes thru that 1/2" hole by the solenoid. This is on a car with its original paint and interior so I think this was the original location.

May be different on TR6s... if in doubt hold out for a third opinion.

This is not a third opinion yet, as I need to check back at the house after work to fully form an opinion - but I thought the location under the latch was the right one.

Geo - your car certainly is original, but I wonder if there are any subtleties because you do not have a heater (and I assume no heater valve?)

Oops, should have known better than to doubt Geo.

Heater valve cable runs under bonnet release, choke cable is lower near starter solenoid.
