I have to apologize but the videos from 2001-2003 are made when I never thought about to take part at a race.
The car was quite standard with a 280 degree cam. 113 HP power output was estimated by a rolling road dyno. Street tires with wire spoke wheels were fitted at that time.
Year 2004 the car was warmed up a little to 135 HP with racing tires. I've used lot's of hot tips out of the Kastner tuning manuals to make the suspension better raceable.
The CanAm racer was a complete surprise to meet on that event which is only allowed to road legal cars.
The car's weight was 480 kg with 120 HP out of 1.6L.
I had a chat with the driver later the day and he told me that he is not familiar with the track....the reason why he slowed down on the twisted parts of the track.
But it was good fun to pass him anyway and beeing about 500m ahead when entering the long straight. I just cruised at 80 mph to cool down the engine and went on the parking to check the car.
2006 Uncle Jack helped my to hop up my engine a little so it does have 160 HP now. He bought the parts and sent them over to Europe. Nice guy with very good ideas.
Cheers
Chris
This year I will race at the Nordschleife and try to do more than just a practise session. Hope the camera will work this time....
