I'm about half way through the cutaway illustration for the TR4s (including the 4A) and expect to finish up by the end of this week. As with my other drawings, artwork will be available in most factory color exterior/interior combinations as well as with a number of options including overdrive, whitewalls, steel or wire wheels, right hand drive, luggage rack, driving lamps, and early or late radiator (TR4) to name a few.

Order form will up an on my site before the end of the week with delivery of prints expected the third week of November (or earlier).

In the meantime, if you have an interest, let me know and feel free to add to the discussion here.

I've attached TR3 and E-type (shown here in RHD) samples for those who are not familiar with my artwork. Illustrations come in two sizes—12" x 24" and 18" x 36" and are printed at 3000DPI (amazing detail) on acid-free, archival quality, giclee paper. Finished prints are delivered in sealed tubes mailed via USPS Priority in the U.S. ($7.50) and International First Class to the UK, Australia, New Zealand and most points in Western Europe.

Good Day David,

This is "Russ" writing from SC. I`ll be sending you a pic of the Girling Decal later in the day. I will be buying the large 18 x 36 cutaway for my `61TR3A.

Talk to you soon.

Regards, Russ

Thanks. I've removed the Girling stock from the site until it can be replaced with the corrected decals. I do my best to ensure the accuracy of my product but, occasionally, something slips through despite my best effort. I appreciate you letting me know.

Regards,

Excellent. I have been waiting for the TR4. You will be getting my order as soon as I can place it!

Excellent. I have been waiting for the TR4. You will be getting my order as soon as I can place it!

Order form should be up by the close of the day (Eastern time) tomorrow. A few of the options for the TR4 include S.U. or Stromberg carbs, early (TR3 style) or late radiator, emissions style air cleaners, steel wheels (60-spoke wires will be standard), driving/spot lamps, white wall tires, overdrive, and outside fender mounted mirror. And, of course, available in a selection of exterior/interior color combinations. I'm also considering offering the surrey top.

As far as progress goes I have the chassis, motor, gearbox, cooling system bumpers, steering column, seats, transmission tunnel, wheels, tires, brakes, and the rest of the running gear completed. The body outline is also set along with the left side sheet metal and a few other bits. I expect to wrap up the basic illustration by the end of the week then it will be off to the technical editor for a review. Files should start going to the printer early next week with delivery in about 10 days.

I'll post up a couple of teaser images tomorrow night.

Artwork will be finished by the end of this week. Order form is going up this evening. Prints will begin to be delivered in 10-14 days following the completed illustration.

Okay, here you go. Order form is up and available. Approximate delivery is in about 2 weeks.

Attached JPEG is an in-progress image. There's still a lot to be done—forward bulkhead, battery, master cylinders, heater, dash, boot area, line art 3/4 front and rear views, sheet metal behind the seats, windscreen, etc. etc. etc. but this should give you the idea. Before the critics take aim, I'm sharing a work that's not finished—I haven't color balanced anything, none of the transparency values have been set, and there's still a lot of detail to add. That said, if you spot something that's particularly egregious, let me know. I'll try and post up another progress image tomorrow night.

"Standard" TR4 art will come with 60-spoke wire wheels, top boot cover, and early TR3 style radiator. You can choose from a whole bunch of options, even right hand drive. TR4A art will be as the cars were delivered to North America with options for home market cars including RHD. All of the detail information is available on the order form.

Illustrations are all printed at 3000DPI for fantastic detail on acid-free, archival quality, giclee paper and are numbered and signed. I haven't yet decided on the length of the print run but am certain will be less than 100 total between the 4 and 4A.

Not as much as progress as I hoped for but progress nonetheless. Redrew the forward sheet metal (especially the lamp cowls), added the sheet metal for the boot area including the wheel well, fuel tank, penciled in the line art for the 3/4 front view (to be complimented by the 3/4 rear view), and redrew the fuel cap plus a bunch of other odds and ends.

I was also asked today about some of the special colors that Triumph provided as well as a few other questions about special equipment (other than what I offer). Regarding the colors, if you can produce a sample of what you want, I will do my best to match it. On non-standard equipment, add your request in the "Special Instructions" box on the order form. I can't promise I'll include it but will do my best.

That's it for tonight. Been a long day at the old drawing board (well, computer actually) and it's time to shut things down for the night.

Thanks for the update David. Apparently because I am "Impossible" to buy gifts for, I will not be ordering right away. So if you get an order for a BRG tr4, hopefully it will be under the tree this year, lol.

Seems like the print would work for both of you. Takes the guesswork out of what to get you and you get something that you dont need to return.

And the most recent rendition with Stromberg carburetters, recirculating ventilation, completed line art, finished boot area, windscreen, completed interior (less the dash), adjustments to various transparency layers, and a bunch of other small stuff. Still to go includes the later style radiator, the rest of the forward bulkhead, heater, and dash area. With any luck, I should finish up with the missing parts and pieces tomorrow then spend Thursday tweaking the colors and various other details.

Oh yeah, this the version without the Surrey top. But you knew that...

Okay folks, finished up the TR4 and nearly done with the 4A.

These two samples both have the early carb and radiator but are available with Strombergs, the later SU set-up and the late radiator with integral expansion tank. Interior details are changed to suit the year of the car. Can also be ordered with or without the Surrey top. Shown here in Signal Red and British Racing Green both with black interiors but are available in the full selection of factory exterior/interior color combinations. Options include white wall tires, steel wheels, spot lamp, even a right hand drive version for the home market crowd. You can order here: https://planbillustration.com/triumph-tr4tr4a-roadster-illustration-custom-order/

Approximate delivery time is 10-14 days from the time of order. All illustrations ship via USPS Priority (domestic) or USPS International First Class. I send out soft proofs on each order so you get a chance to review your print before it goes to press.

Thought I'd post a few detail shots or prints I'm prepping for customers. The Powder blue car has the S.U carbs with the later model radiator, steel wheels, and white walls. The BRG car has the Stromberg carb option, later style radiator, and overdrive. The Signal Red car has the early style radiator (same as TR3), S.U carbs, and a Surrey top. All good looking examples of the classic TR4.

Hi David,

Is there an IRS option for the 4A?

My TR4A illustrations come with IRS as standard. The TR4A print also includes the bits of chrome trim and wing mounted marker lamp, either Stromberg or SU carbs (depending on which came on your production number) as well as changes in exhaust and intake manifolds—essentially, all of the mechanical and cosmetic changes that I'm aware of between the 4 and 4A are reflected in the illustration.
