TR2/3/3A TR3A SU H6 Rebuild Float chamber Cap Nut

I am rebuilding 2 AUC 878 carbs that came off of my 1960 TR3A. The float chamber cap nuts on the old carbs are steel. The new ones that I bought are brass. Make any difference? It make sense to me to use the new brass ones. The car is a 100,000 mile car and the old steel ones are quite worn. Any reason that I should not replace the old steel ones with the new brass ones? They shore are purtier..............
Silly question I suppose but just thought I would ask.

Thanks, Tinkerman

Seems like either will work. Do the replacements take a Whitworth spanner like the original? (a ÂĽ" Whitworth IIRC).

Thanks! Makes more sense to me.
