TR2/3/3A TR3A Starter

I am checking/rebuilding a long-nose starter for a 1959 TR3A. Does anyone know the resistance ohms for the field coils for this unit? Any Lucas info on these starters?

Those coils are pretty hefty. With my ohm meter they showed 0 ohms. I don't think it could provide enough amperage to show anything else. If the continuity is good through the coils, and there is no continuity between the coils and ground, you should have good coils. Like I said, they are pretty hefty so it would take a direct short to burn them out.

When I rebuild a motor I do remove the yokes and re-wrap the coils with 100% cotton tape, like they were originally. It protects them and they look like new when I put them back in.
