TR2/3/3A TR3A sputtering after 1 hour of driving

My 59 TR3A generally starts and runs well. After one hour or more of driving in warm weather it starts to sputter in city traffic on acceleration. It still idles fine, but won't start when shut off. Sufficiently fast highway or freeway driving doesn't seem to cause this.
My theory is that the gas gets too hot on it's way to the carbs. What have others done to cure this?
Thanks!

I have a carb shield on my TR3 because I have an exhaust header. I cut a 4" hole in the cardboard radiator ductwork and ran a duct tube up to the carb area. I also wrapped the fuel line in the front engine area with header wrap so that it might keep the heat away from the fuel line. I've never had problems with vapor lock and it gets up to 90 degrees here sometimes. I also have an auxiliary fan in front of the rad and a toggle switch so I can turn it on when I get stuck in traffic. Hope this helps.
