Hello, listers, I'm glad to report that my long-slumbering TR3A is a runner... I fired her up this morning, and puttered around the neighborhood, (the brakes actually worked!)

Thanks to Jayhawk, Sammy B, SP53, MTF1250Dave, Geo Hahn, Alan Myers, and TRTEL for their help. Next up is the DMV, and some hydraulic work; my buddy who came over to help and watch was amazed how relatively easy she fired up, and the lack of black exhaust, etc. I guess she's not a smoker.

I have some lingering questions, which I'll hit during the week, but I appreciated the forum and it's help getting my girl going... Best, Kevin /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
What a sound, what a moment! It is great when one of these cars awakes after a long slumber. This should be just the inspiration you need to take care of all the reliability items that will need doing. Save old hoses, belt, etc for your emergency spares when you put the new ones on.

It's amazing how strong the TRs are, and how easy it is for them to sit for decades and simply start up like they were run two months ago.
 
Congratulations! You were wise to do all you did for starters-- The ol's dad in me says don't depend too much on those old brake cylinders or master-- one strong mash on the brake pedal may blow out one of those seals-- (don't ask me how I know) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
